Good morning everyone! This week we’re joining up with the Ultimate Blog Party courtesy of 5 Minutes for Mom! The Ultimate Blog Party is an eight-day link up for bloggers across the Web, including homeschooling blogs (like this one), parenting blogs, cooking blogs, and more. If you haven’t signed up yet, go join up and connect with other bloggers like yourself!
A little bit about us:
My name is Selena and I’m momma to four precious kids: Tigger (age 8), Pooh (age 4), Roo (age 3), and Piglet (age 4 months). My husband, Christopher Robin, is my homeschooling partner and he’s extremely involved in our lessons each week. The two of us made the decision to homeschool when we were pregnant with Tigger and we intend to continue through high school with all four of our children. I’m a homeschooling graduate myself and I had no trouble going to college or starting a career, so I know from experience that homeschooling works!
A little bit about our homeschooling philosophy:
We’ve tried on just about every homeschooling method over the years: school at home, Charlotte Mason, eclectic, and unschooling, to name a few. Recently, we’ve settled into a very relaxed approach with aspects of Charlotte Mason, especially when it comes to history and literature. We use a lot of educational websites in our curriculum, but we love textbooks and hands-on art experiences as well. We generally school year-round, instead of following the public school system schedule, and that seems to work best for us.
A little bit about Look! We’re Learning!:
We started this blog back in 2008, not long after we had Pooh. Originally, I didn’t intend for this blog to be much more than a way of keeping our friends and relatives up-to-date on our schooling. This year, though, we’ve started blogging more regularly and we now post every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Right now, we’re in the middle of our series “How to Afford Homeschooling“, which is posted every Wednesday and will conclude in a couple of weeks. Every Friday, we share a different website we love to use in our lessons, but we’d love to hear your favorites as well!
If you found us through the Ultimate Blog Party, stop by anytime! You’re more than welcome to come along as we keep on learning!
Selena blogs about her family’s homeschooling adventures at Look! We’re Learning! every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You can subscribe by email or follow along with Look! We’re Learning! on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
