I’ve always loved teaching our children American Sign Language.
We use ASL in our local congregation, but I also like using it to build early literacy skills in our kids.
In fact, when we practice spelling words, the kids generally fingerspell each word as they say the letter.
I’m convinced that learning to sign has made them better spellers overall.
Since ASL is such a wonderful tool for early spelling skills, I thought it would be awesome to combine it with letter recognition in these printable sign language alphabet puzzles!
These are wonderful for literacy centers!
Plus, they’d make great quiet time activities, since kids can practice matching up the puzzle pieces again and again.
