Colors are, I think, one of the first concepts I actively tried to teach my kids. Since they’re all around us, it’s pretty easy to start introducing it at a young age.
So, when you also want to teach your young child a different language, colors are a perfect place to start with that too!

Spanish Color Word Playdough Mats for Kids
To use these printable Spanish color word playdough mats, you’ll need the following: (This post contains affiliate links. For details, see our Disclosure Policy.)
- Printer (with ink)
- Printer Paper
- Laminator
- Playdough
This product includes 11 Spanish color mats, so students get a chance to learn all of the basic colors – and a few neutrals as well!
To use them, simply cut the color mats apart and laminate them.
Hand out cans of playdough and let kids practice forming the dough into letters and tracing out each color word.
After they’re done, let them practice saying each color word aloud in Spanish.

You can also use these with dry erase markers!
Place the mats in morning tubs or at centers and let students practice tracing the letters over and over again.
